Summer Community ACT (Arts for Change and Transformation) is a PAID two-week in person intensive exploring arts, social justice, and mental health. Participants ages 13-18 engage in activities and exercises focused on an increased understanding of themselves and their world. We explore complex and necessary topics such as culture, influence/bias, stress, place, identity, oppression, conflict management, and art activation.
Does your teen have questions about Community ACT? We have answers!
When is it?
The two-week intensive takes place Monday through Friday, from July 8th to July 19th at 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
How old do I have to be?
You must be between the ages of 13 to 18 to register.
Is it virtual or in-person?
All of our workshops will be in-person at our 2900 N. Downing St 1B location. RTD is currently free until August 31st, 2024 for anyone 19 or under if you need support with transportation. (The 29th and Downing bus stop is right outside our program space!)
So where is it?
We’ll meet at our 2900 N. Downing St location (right across from the 30th & Downing light rail station!)
Is it paid? Do I get a free art kit?
Yes! Participants can earn up to $225 for the entire program, and as always, we’ll provide you with an art kit personalized to your creative interests!
If I’ve done ACT before, can I do it again?
We give teens who haven’t done ACT before first dibs, as well as folks who identify as BIPOC. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t register if you’ve done ACT before! You still might be included in our Summer cohort, depending on how many new people sign up.
What happens after I register?
You will get an email from us saying we got your registration. Then, someone at CSC will reach out for a 30-minute check in so you and your guardian can ask us any questions about ACT.
