Communications Coordinator Position Overview

The Communications Coordinator is a member of CSC’s administrative team
and reports to the Director of Development. The Communications Coordinator is a part-time position working with the CSC staff to maintain and grow excellent marketing aligned with the CSC mission, vision, and values. Our organization is expanding our internet presence, striving to thoughtfully engage and begin conversations around (but not limited to) race, equity, and identity, as well as increase the reach of our programs. The Communications Coordinator will work closely with staff to execute social media and marketing campaigns representing the programs and advocacy provided by CSC. This position will be responsible for upgrading, updating, and maintaining the organization’s website functions and content. Other responsibilities include managing our social media channels and coordinating the development and dissemination of our monthly newsletter, growing branding, campaign direction (narratives, resources, etc), as well as participation in fundraising campaigns and events.

Skills and Qualifications

●Experience in social media in a volunteer, organization, campus, or campaign
setting.
● Excellent communication skills (written & verbal), including the ability to take
complex topics and make them accessible to a mass audience.
● Strong computer skills using Canva, Google Suite or similar platforms.
● Ability to work within established style guidelines and collaborate with staff to
produce on-message content, including an ability to use or learn software like
Illustrator, Microsoft Office, meme and gif generators, and/or apps like Canva.
● Experience and comfort using social media channels, including Instagram,
Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Youtube, and LinkedIn, is a plus.
● Experience running livestreams is also a plus.
● General knowledge of Search Engine Optimization and internet ranking for web
content.
● Relevant experience in determining a target audience and how to cater to unique
marketing campaigns to capture their attention.
● Strong understanding of marketing strategy and how to effortlessly utilize these
concepts throughout various forms of outreach.
● Experience creating engaging and compelling digital content
● Experience in scaling the online engagement of grassroots organizations.
● Strong research skills
● Knowledgeable in website design

Compensation

$30,000 Annually
After 90 days of employment, an employee will be eligible for a healthcare stipend of $200 per month.
